Seven public schools, administered by the County Board of Education; 377-3701. Grades K-12 are served in Grady County. Five vocational-technical schools, eight colleges, and universities are within a 60-mile radius of Cairo.
Citizens of Cairo and Grady County have access to an array of healthcare services, thanks to the 60-bed Grady General Hospital. County registration automatically includes registration for State and National elections. Register at the county courthouse; 377-4132. To vote in city elections, register at City Hall; 377-1722.

Grady County’s impressive $2.5 million courthouse, completed in 1985, houses the commission form of government. A mayor/council form of city government serves Cairo.
